Apple RDA IQOS in New Zealand: the budget shortlist
Apple in New Zealand: 22 units tested over 9 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Zealand.
How we tested Apple RDA here
Apple in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In New Zealand the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
A apple RDA from the budget options in New Zealand costs about NZ$2.16 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: apple in New Zealand works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a apple RDA really costs in New Zealand
Apple in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In New Zealand the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested apple in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Zealand, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–8 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–8 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a apple bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where apple goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in New Zealand stocks.
The rules that apply here
New Zealand sets its own nicotine rules by regulation, not EU TPD. Shipping of nicotine to New Zealand runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On apple the budget price and the premium price can sit within NZ$2.16 per 10 ml once 4–8 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should apple start at?
Start at whatever New Zealand allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.
Why does apple taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the apple blend itself harsh.
