Citrus box mod IQOS in New Zealand: the cheap shortlist
Citrus in New Zealand: 6 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Zealand.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Citrus box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In New Zealand that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within NZ$2.61 per 10 ml.
The short version: citrus in New Zealand works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus box mod really costs in New Zealand
Most people searching IQOS in New Zealand are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested citrus in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Zealand, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Zealand, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into New Zealand.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Mixing citrus with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in New Zealand survives.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Zealand sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
