Citrus refill pack IQOS in New Zealand: the online shortlist
Citrus in New Zealand: 8 units tested over 5 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for New Zealand.
How we tested Citrus refill pack here
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In New Zealand that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within NZ$2.29 per 10 ml.
Citrus sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, refill pack, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus refill pack really costs in New Zealand
Citrus in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In New Zealand the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested citrus in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–8 business days.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Zealand, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–8 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in New Zealand survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Zealand sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Zealand sets its own nicotine rules by regulation, not EU TPD. Shipping of nicotine to New Zealand runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within NZ$2.29 per 10 ml once 4–8 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should citrus start at?
Start at whatever New Zealand allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
