Graphite pen device IQOS in New Zealand: the cheap shortlist
Graphite in New Zealand: 11 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Zealand.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Graphite sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
A graphite pen device from the cheapest options in New Zealand costs about NZ$1.88 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite pen device really costs in New Zealand
Graphite in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In New Zealand the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested graphite in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Zealand, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–8 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Zealand, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every graphite bottle shipped into New Zealand.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Zealand accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
New Zealand sets its own nicotine rules by regulation, not EU TPD.
