What a honey RDA really costs in New Zealand
Honey in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In New Zealand the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested honey in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–8 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a honey bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–8 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where honey goes wrong
- Treating the advertised NZ$67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run NZ$2.31 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long honey in New Zealand survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
