What a mintice squonk mod really costs in New Zealand
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Zealand. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested mintice in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Zealand, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–8 business days.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in New Zealand, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–8 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mintice bottle shipped into New Zealand.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where mintice goes wrong
- Mixing mintice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised NZ$47 entry kit as the real cost when refills run NZ$1.78 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mintice in New Zealand survives.
The rules that apply here
New Zealand sets its own nicotine rules by regulation, not EU TPD.
Packaging for mintice in New Zealand must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in New Zealand: about NZ$1.78 per 10 ml liquid plus NZ$47 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does mintice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the mintice blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On mintice the budget price and the premium price can sit within NZ$1.78 per 10 ml once 4–8 business days is counted.
